Dingonatura supports different social projects to achieve funding for collectives in need.
One of them is the animal-assisted therapies for ALS (Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) patients. In Spain, 900 new ALS cases are diagnosed each year, and Dingonatura collaborates with the Oficina de Intervenciones Asistidas por Animales (Office of Animal-Assisted Interventions) of the Rey Juan Carlos University (URJC) for these patients to see their daily lives improved thanks to the therapy dog’s help.
Some of the actions organized to raise funds are the Canicross races, a sport discipline consisting on a dog running with its owner, joined by a special leash. In Spain, 6 Canicross events have already been organized in order to support this disease, and they are identified with the beautiful name Patas por la ELA (Paws for ALS).
The last race tool place last November in Arroyomolinos, and we will keep you updated about future calls. The more people participates, the more assisted therapies will be organized from the URJC to favor ASL patients.
